The Manifesto

Five convictions that
guide every dollar we spend.

Chapter · 01 → 05

We don't publish a mission statement to hang on a wall. These are the operating principles we test every program, every grant, and every partnership against.

  1. 01The economy is built on Main Street
  2. 02Serve everyone. Full stop
  3. 03Systems, not slogans
  4. 04Fundable is a discipline
  5. 05Local capital, local outcomes

01

The economy is built on Main Street.

Every institution — banks, universities, government — was built on the back of a small business that took a first risk. We treat that lineage seriously.

02

Serve everyone. Full stop.

CSBDA serves small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone looking to acquire a professional skill — including English classes for business owners who want to sharpen their communication. This is economic development, not advocacy, not politics.

03

Systems, not slogans.

Sustainable businesses are systematized businesses. We teach bookkeeping, sales pipelines, hiring, and operations — the unglamorous work that compounds.

04

Fundable is a discipline.

Access to capital is a game with clear rules. We prepare businesses to walk into a bank, an SBA lender, or a government RFP already looking like the winner.

05

Local capital, local outcomes.

Money that circulates inside Johnson County builds Johnson County. Every graduate of our programs strengthens the surrounding economy.
